Laxcon 2020

Program Director, Sarah Cooper and Coach Allison Granata headed to Philadelphia this weekend to partake in LaxCon! There, they learned from some of the greatest minds and players in today's game while also networking with others heavily involved in the lacrosse community.

US Lacrosse Mountain representative, Shawn Maloney was an integral part of connecting Rattlers coaches with those growing the game in Omaha, NE at the Friday night networking event. There, the coaches also ran into some familiar faces, CSU Head Men's Coach, Ryan MacDonald and former Denver Outlaw and Rattlers summer camp coach, Kai Iwamoto. The growing presence of coaches and players represented from Colorado is exciting!

:Creating an Inclusive Culture, On and Off the Field" and talking about diversity and inclusion with the likes of Kyle Harrison (PLL) and Daniela Eppler (WPLL) was a highlight of Coach Cooper's time at LaxCon, as well as learning new takes on some of her "old reliable" drills with Courtney Connor.

Coach Granata enjoyed Josie Tomaino's 50+ Drills/Exercises for Field Players and Goalies session the most because of the concepts they described about how to progress/deconstruct drills for different levels of players and looks forward to bringing these learned skills and reinforced ideas to the field this spring!

On top of that, your Rattlers coaches found themselves chatting with legendary Gary and Paul Gait about their new line of women's lacrosse sticks. A casual ride down the elevator with Paul Rabil, the man, the myth, the legend, was also a pleasant surprise- unfortunately no autographs or selfies resulted from said trip.
