Rattlers Box Lacrosse is Back for Winter 2016-2017!

LXTC & Colorado Mammoth Box League

We are excited to announce our second year competing in the LXTC & Colorado Mammoth Elite Box Lacrosse League! This is the ONLY USBOXLA sanctioned league in the country to partner with an NLL organization (Colorado Mammoth). Box lacrosse has been proven to be one of the best way for players to develop player skills and players love the fast paced nature of the game. This is an incredible way for players to take their game to the next level and play against some of the best competition Colorado has to offer. We have partnered with Carroll Butts as our home facility and are excited to have more games closer to home this year!

What we expect from our players: All Rattlers players are expected to work as hard as they can in every drill, practice, and game. We expect all of our players to be respectful of their coaches, teammates, officials, and players/coaches from the opposing team. We believe that being a good teammate is essential to the growth of our players and expect all of our players to have a good attitude and understand that they are part of something bigger than themselves. Players should exhibit good sportsmanship on and off the field. We also strongly encourage our players to work on skills learned in practice on their own, and  "hit the wall" on a regular basis.

What we expect of our parents:  We expect all of our parents to be respectful to coaches, players (on our team and opposing teams), other parents, and officials. Parents should be encouraging of their son/team regardless of the score or game situation. Negative comments towards players, officials, or other parents will not be tolerated. Please refrain from coaching from the sideline. Our coaches are trained to handle all game situations and parents instructing their kids from the sideline can be confusing to players and contradict how the coach is teaching the team play.

Box is completely different sport with completely different rules. We will be sending out a parent education email with box rules before the first game.

Please reach out if you have any questions. We are looking forward to an incredible season!

Our last step is our strongest step!!

The best players are made when no one is watching!!

Why Box Lacrosse?  Box lacrosse is proven to be one of the best ways for players to develop their lacrosse skills and field IQ. Box lacrosse gives players more repetitions and teaches them advanced skills that are not taught in outdoor lacrosse.  Box lacrosse provides players with the ability  and confidence to play in confined spaces and promotes a creative lacrosse environment. It teaches players the importance of getting to and protecting the middle of the field, which is something that is essential to outdoor/field lacrosse.  Learning how to  play in close proximity to other layers allows players to learn how to initiate contact, and enhances all aspects of stickwork, defensive footwork, and positioning. Box lacrosse highlights skills like moving off ball, creating space for one  another, and how to utilize the two man game. Box lacrosse is fast paced, and an incredible way to improve physical and mental toughness.
